Panzer Represents Cambodia FinTech Association in Singapore FinTech Festival 2018

Organised by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), together with The Association of Banks in Singapore and SingEx Holdings, the third edition of the Singapore FinTech Festival 2018 wrapped up successfully, attracting close to 45,000 participants from 130 countries. The event featured over 250 speakers, 500 exhibitors as well as 16 international pavilions.

Inaugurated in 2016, Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF) is the world’s biggest Fintech event that provides a global platform for the FinTech community to connect, collaborate and co-create. Key highlights of SFF 2018 include the FinTech Conference with a new AI in Finance Summit and Global Investors’ Summit, the FinTech Awards, Global FinTech Hackcelerator, Innovation Lab Crawl and Industry Networking and Workshops.

The three-day FinTech Conference, held from 12 to 14 November at Singapore Expo, was graced by international and local dignitaries such as Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, Ms. Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of International Monetary Fund and Mr. Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Education of Singapore and Board Member of the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Other notable leaders who visited SFF include Mr. Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, Mr. Heng Swee Keat, Minister for Finance of Singapore, Mr. Patrick Njoroge, Governor of Central Bank of Kenya, and Mr. Sonexay Sitphaxay, Governor of Bank of the Lao PDR. We are also honoured to have Her Excellency, Mdm. Chea Serey, Assistant Governor and Director General of National Bank of Cambodia to grace our booth as well as share her thoughts and insights on financial inclusion in ASEAN.

“The initiative of effort is a very good platform to start with and I think the private sector do play an important role. It doesn’t have to be everything government driven and government set the rules and you follow. I think private sector need to step up the effort and drive that harmonization across the region as well,” Mdm. Chea Serey said.

Panzer is honoured to represent the Cambodia FinTech Association at the SFF; sharing our experience, knowledge as well as economy and current technology scene in Cambodia. One of the fastest growing economies in the world, Cambodia sustains an average growth of 7% annually. The country aims to enhance its technology skill and infrastructure on its path towards a modern technology and knowledge-based economy. In fact, the government has stepped up efforts in recent months to encourage SMEs to adopt and integrate the latest technologies into their processes in order to improve productivity. Additionally, the Cambodia FinTech Association was launched in August to foster more FinTech collaboration in the country.

We also took the opportunity to share on our revolutionary software solution that is designed to make real estate property management smarter, more secure and scalable. This solution will be deployed at Global Tech Exchange, a mixed-use development located within the new CBD area of Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Our CEO, Mr. Alan Wong, was interviewed at the event and shared his sentiments on the event as well as Panzer’s future plans. “This is the first year we are representing Cambodia FinTech Association and we are proud to be able to contribute to them, bringing what we have here in Singapore to the country,” Mr. Wong said.

“While Panzer as a tech company, we are always looking at innovative ways on how we can use technology to improve and add more value to people’s lives. And our vision is to change the way the city and businesses work together by developing an eco-system that allows multi smart applications to connect and interact within a smart city environment,” Mr. Wong added.

With the development of our solution in progress, 2019 is going to be an exciting year for us. We are planning to expedite our product development and targeting to launch our beta version by end of Q1 2019. In line with Cambodia government’s vision to move the country towards a digitalised economy, we hope that our solution can increase business productivity and efficiency and improve the lives of the people living and working within the city.
